4th ICESCO Education Ministers Conference Education Beyond 2030
Educational systems strive to achieve equality, inclusiveness, quality, and relevance. However, huge number of children are out of school, and many others are still lacking quality and equitable education, especially in low- and middle-income countries. Moreover, political, economic, social, and climatic crises, such as wars, pandemics, and natural disasters are considered among the major indicators of disruption in education.
In this context, the United Nations convened the Transforming Education Summit in September 2022, which formulated a global pact for transforming education, supported by each country’s national commitments. In response to this call, the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), in collaboration with the Omani Ministry of Education organized the 3rd Conference of ICESCO Education Ministers, under the theme “Beyond Transforming Education Summit: from Commitment to Action,” in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman in October 2024.
Therefore, transforming and reconceptualizing education has become a pressing need to build a brighter future and honor our international, political, and financial commitments to education as a means of achieving sustainable development and peace and ensuring human rights for achieving the education 2030 targets and beyond.
The world is getting closer to Education 2030 with global targets and commitments to actions (CtAs) requiring a boost while looking ahead the post 2030 situation due to high-end digitization changing the dynamics of education. In this regard, ICESCO is organizing 4th Education Ministers Conference (EMC-4) to deliberate and foresee the Education Beyond 2030 situation in order to prepare our member states in advance. The Conference will feature ministerial meeting and high-level scientific sessions aiming at addressing transforming education-related topics, along with expert presentations and extensive discussions for exchanging experiences and initiatives. Furthermore, the event includes a specialized exhibition on education.
